Summary: The winding road through the Douro Valley and the surrounding hills covered with vineyards was beautiful and well worth it. From the moment we arrived and called the front desk to open the gate, we were well taken care of. The staff was super friendly and very helpful in making suggestions on what to do and where to eat. The breakfast was delicious. A lot of variety and prepared fresh as the guests arrived. The pool was refreshing. The staff helped us schedule massages - a great start to our vacation. When we were getting ready to check out, my wife asked if we could get a few pieces of cheese, meat, and a couple of leftover rolls from breakfast for a picnic lunch as we drove down the N2. The staff made us two sandwiches “to go” for the road instead. We even had a welcome plate of snacks in our room that was replenished each day. We cannot wait to stay here again.
